Plan - Referral to a specialist

Doctora Orquídea discusses how to tell a patient that you will refer him or her to a specialist.

Hola, yo soy la doctora Orquídea.
We will now review how to tell a patient that you are going to refer him or her to a specialist.
Let’s say, “I am going to refer you (or him or her) to an orthopedist.”
“Le voy a referir al ortopedista.”
And now, “I am going to refer you (or him or her) to an ophthalmologist.”
“Le voy a referir al oftalmólogo.”
How about, “I am going to refer you (or him or her) to an ENT doctor.”
“Le voy a referir al otorrinolaringólogo.”
That’s a bit of a tongue twister. Repeat it slowly, “otorrinolaringólogo”
One more time, “otorrinolaringólogo”
Let’s say, “The secretary is going to help you to obtain the appointment.”
“La secretaria le va a ayudar a conseguir la cita.”
If it turns out that you cannot go to the appointment, call the specialist’s office to change the date.
“Si resulta que no puede ir a la cita, llame a la oficina del especialista para cambiar la fecha.”
Bueno, esto es todo.  ¡Hasta la próxima!
