Orientation - Directions and Location
Read, listen, and repeat the following examples to familiarize yourself with terms of direction and location in Spanish.
el norte, el sur, el este, el oeste
(the north, the south, the east, the west)
a la izquierda, a la derecha
(to the left, to the right)
hacia adelante, hacia atrás
(forward, back)
arriba, abajo
(up, down)
en dirección opuesta, en dirección contraria
(both phrases mean "in the opposite direction")
al comienzo, antes de llegar, al final
(at the start, before arriving, at the end)
hacia el norte
(toward the north)
al sur
(to the south)
el lado oeste
(the east side)
el ala norte
(the north wing)
por el este
(by the east)
por ese pasillo
(by that hallway)
a mano izquierda
(at the left hand side)

(on the second level)

(on the floor above)

(on the ground floor)
