37. Abelardo está somnoliento. (Abelardo is somnolent.)
Mamá: ¡Doctor, por favor ayúdeme! Mi hijo tuvo espasmos, y ahora está somnoliento y confundido.
(Doctor, please help me! My son had spasms, and now he is somnolent and confused.)
Doctor: ¿Ha estado enfermo en estos días? ¿Es la primera vez que esto le pasa?
(Has he been sick these days? Is it the first time that this happens to him?)
Mamá: Tenía ya tres días con dolor de garganta y fiebre muy alta. Es la primera vez que esto sucede.
(He had now three days with sore throat and very high fever. It is the first time that this happens.)
Doctor: ¿Cuánto tiempo duró la crisis?
(How much time lasted the crisis?)
Mamá: El episodio duró como de 3 a 5 minutos.
(The episode lasted about three to five minutes.)
Doctor: Bueno, en este momento la fiebre sigue elevada. Pero dígame, ¿cómo fueron los espasmos?
(Well, in this moment the fever continues elevated. But tell me, how were the spasms?)
Mamá: De repente empezó a temblar, y a sacudir todo el cuerpo. Parecía que no estaba respirando, tenía los ojos en blanco, y hacía ruidos raros.
(Suddenly he began to tremble, and to shake all the body. It seemed that he was not breathing, he had the eyes white, and he was making strange sounds.) Note: In English and Spanish, it is also common to say, "he had the eyes rolled back (turned around)," -- "tenía los ojos volteados."
